Now through January 7, craft a mini modern chair from champagne corks and enter for your chance to win up to $1,000 in prizes from DWR. For every entry, MillerKnoll Foundation will donate $50 (up to $20,000 total) to 黑料吃瓜, which in turn supports the organization's operations and the ability to create successful advocacy campaigns and partnerships, and educate the public about our Modern heritage.

About the Contest

DWR's annual Champagne Chair Contest was a happy accident that became a highly anticipated annual tradition. DWR Founder Rob Forbes and his friends were celebrating New Year’s Eve, and as the party started winding down, he and his creative guests turned their attention to the discarded Champagne corks, foils and wire cages and started building miniature chairs on a whim. The creations ended up in the office, and the public-facing contest took off.

How to Enter

Categories and Prizes

Create and submit a chair in one of three categories: Most Original, Best Likeness, or Best Craftsmanship. All winning chairs will be featured on dwr.com.

Most Original

Create and submit a chair of your original design. 

Grand prize: $1,000 DWR Gift Card
Runner-up: $750 DWR Gift Card

Best Likeness

Create and submit an iconic chair offered in DWR's product assortment

Grand prize: $1,000 DWR Gift Card
Runner-up: $750 DWR Gift Card

Best Craftsmanship

Create and submit a chair using only materials from鈥疨ommery鈥痓rand champagne bottles. Pick-up a free kit at  while supplies last. 

Grand prize: $1,000 DWR Gift Card

Entry Requirements

• Use any or all materials (except glass), including cork, cage, foil, cap, and label from no more than two (2) bottles of champagne, sparkling wine, or sparkling cider from any brand.
• If you enter for the Most Original Prize by posting a photo of your chair to Instagram, you must follow and tag as well as #dwrchampagnechair.
• If you enter for the Best Likeness Prize by posting a photo of your chair to Instagram, you must follow and tag as well as #dwrchampagnechair.
• To be eligible for the Best Craftsmanship Prize, awarded in partnership with Pommery, use only materials (except glass) from no more than two (2) Pommery Champagne bottles. If you post your Pommery-branded entry to Instagram, you must follow and tag as well as #dwrchampagnechair.
• If you enter via direct message on Instagram, you must send a photo of your chair to and include your name and category for entry.
• If you enter via email, you must send a photo of your chair to socialmedia@dwr.com and include your name and category for entry.
• The chair must measure no more than 4" x 4" x 4".
• Entries accepted starting December 10, 2024. All entries must be received by 11:59pm ET on January 7, 2025.
• Up to 10 chairs from each category will be selected as finalists. If your chair is selected, you’ll be asked to send it to DWR. All submitted chairs will become property of DWR.

• Each person is allowed one (1) entry per prize category. If you choose to enter more than one category, please note you must submit a new design for each category.
