 Joseph Doyague is a Cuban-American graduate student currently studying architecture at The University of Texas at Austin. Living in Chicago from 2017 to 2023, left an indelible impression on him, and by attending the Symposium he hopes to gain further exposure to the Cuban cultural riches of Miami, as he looks to explore the evident crossover between Cuban and midwestern modernism.

Susan Singh is a Ph.D. Architecture student at the University of Texas Austin, focusing her research on the history of modern building technologies. She is a graduate of the Weitzman Graduate Program in Historic Preservation at the University of Pennsylvania as well as University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign鈥檚 civil engineering program. Her previous professional experience includes construction consulting in Dallas and exterior envelope forensics at several architectural and engineering firms in Chicago and New York.聽

Kimberly LaPorte is senior management specialist of public art for public schools in New York City, where she oversees protection, maintenance, and restoration of a collection of 2,000 site-specific artworks located in public school buildings across the five boroughs, 35% of which were created and installed during the Modern movement era.

Jingyi Luo was born in China and raised in Beijing. She obtained her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the California College of the Arts in 2019, where she discovered her interest in architectural history and theory. After working as an architectural designer for several years, she decided to pursue a master's degree. Currently, she is a second-year graduate student in the Historic Preservation department at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Architectural Conservation.
