The space between the Meadows Building and Energy Square will be leveled and turned into a park as part of a preservation plan by the building's owners, GlenStar Properties.
The future of the Meadows Building was uncertain as the developer's initial plans sought to raze the building. However, their opinions began to shift after the Dallas Landmarks Commission voted unanimously in favor of the building's designation this past February; echoing the support of preservationists and people in the community, including architecture critic and chapter president Gregory Ibanez who provided testimony declaring the significance of the building and the importance of saving it.
